Call the Meeting to Order

H. Wier called a meeting of the Finance Committee of Athlos Jefferson Parish to order on Wednesday Mar 16, 2022 at 5:32 PM.

Approve Minutes

R. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes from Finance Committee Meeting on 02-23-22.
H. Wier seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Discussion

A.

Monthly Financials UPDATE- JANUARY ONLY

Valerie share the monthly financials from the month of January.

Fund balance slightly low

State funding low due to low enrollment

Food revenue very low because waiting for grant reimbursement

Most expenditures are around normal, but purchased services and lease are higher.  Equipment is low.

Fund balance looking positive- should be good year.

 

Questions-

Harvey asked about federal windfall coming up that needs to be spent by fall 2023.  Valerie said that is in the upcoming budget, but decisions on how to be spent needs to be decided.

 

Harvey asked to have business item moving forward to discuss decisions that need to be made regarding these restricted funds.  Amount of grant, options for spending, etc.  (AKA windfall analysis) 

 

Ruben asked about Dr. Bressler and his role with the board and the financials.  Will he understand the budget to discuss with the committee? Jill will be connecting with Bressler to determine what role he will be playing with regards to the board and financials, etc.
