R. Johnson called a meeting of the Governance Committee of Athlos Jefferson Parish to order on Wednesday Feb 2, 2022 at 6:04 PM.

Policy 2006- Public Comment/2001 Public Access to Meetings
- 2001- Public Access to Meetings
- Jill shared that this is a combination of Open Meeting Law and Public comment policies
- Policy outlines OML
- Also addresses public comment, including during virtual meetings (new)
- Committee agreed to move it forward to the board

Policy 4002- Background Checks
- 4002- Background Checks
- Jill is suggesting outlining the background check policies for personnel and volunteers in two different polices. Because these suggestions would remove background checks for volunteers, Jill is suggesting NOT approving this until the volunteer background check policy is ready for approval at the same time.
- QUESTION- clarify if contracted individuals are subject to background policies. May need to add the section II A 2 a “…or contracted individuals who would have access to students.”

Board Recruitment
- Jill shared using LinkedIn to place an ad for recruiting board members.
- Jaquetta asked about linking the ad to list of qualifications, etc. She wanted to know what happens when the APPLY button is clicked. (Find out from Heather)
- Link to school website was requested.
