Call the Meeting to Order
J. Holmes called a meeting of the Governance Committee Committee of Athlos Jefferson Parish to order on Tuesday Jan 20, 2026 at 5:32 PM.
II. Governance Committee
A.
Review draft revisions to the policies in the set of discipline policies.
B.
Determine revised meeting cadence for remainder of the school year
The committee discussed moving to every other month and meeting in March and May.
C.
Finalize / edit committee goals for the remainder of the year
Goals:
- Focus on the Safety Crisis Plan.
- Seclusion and Restraint Policy.
- New items needed for the transition.
- Skip the Board resource guide.

Adjourn Meeting
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:59 PM.

The committee discussed the final edits, the SPED review, the alternative placement and the search and drug test process. The committee recommended moving the edits forward to the February board meeting.
As a follow up, the committee ask that staff research further the process for an alternative school placement and create the internal procedure for staff use.
