The Board Chair will call on you. Please note that comments are limited to two minute. The Board Chair may increase or decrease the time allowed for public comment, depending upon the topic and number of persons wishing to be heard.
Access to Board Materials: A copy of the written materials which have been submitted to the School Board with the agenda relating to open session items may be reviewed by any interested persons on the Amethod Public School’s website at www.amethodschools.org following the posting of the agenda. Amethod reserves the right to show or distribute additional information and/or documents to the School Board at the meeting, and will make copies of such documents relating to open session items available to the public upon request.

15 Public Comments
Hector Garcia, parent of student from JHHS expresses concerns about student behavior after the pandemic and wishes there are enough support for the students. He would like to have parents to be involved more with the students and have a translator ready to help address Latino parents' concerns.
Claudia Padilla, parent of two girls from JHHS with special education needs is frustrated that her girls are not getting the help they need and she is not being heard. She is angry that the school is not helping her daughters.
Rodrick Padilla, parent of students from JHHS is expressing for more help to be offered to his daughters. Their grades are failing and they stay up many nights to complete their homework due to having difficulties. He hopes there is more supervision at the school to better assist his son and daughter.
Andrea Cervantes, mother of 2 children from JHHS is concerned about the administration because the school environment has been feeling intense. Her son is being attacked by the administration and hope they hear their children's' concerns. Her son does not feel safe and is sadden that he does not want to remember his last year like this.
Cristina Morales, former and current parent of students from JHHS is concerned that her son does not have an AP teacher in his class. She expresses that the principal is attacking her son and accusing him of being involved with a gang when she met with the principal about her concerns. She hopes there will be a way to give the students respect and hope she can speak more regarding this situation.
Board Chair reduces time to 1 minute per person and 2 minutes for translation for the sake of time.
Maria Coy, mother of former student whom graduated from JHHS last year has been speaking with the current students' parents. Parents are expressing that the new administration is discriminating against the students and not hearing their concerns. She said parents are also showing concern that there is a lack of teachers at the high school.
Giselle Garcia, parent from JHHS says her son is being intimated and is afraid to speak up. She says this is concerning that other students are not feeling safe to speak up as well. Her son wants to play sports but the school is threatening to cancel their sports if the students speak up.
Criss Avila, mother of JHHS student would like to know what is going on with the school. She has not met the new administration an is sadden that all this is happening after they fought so hard to keep the school running.
Kevin Silva, student from JHHS says the environment at the school is really heavy. There is a lack of communication between staff, administration, and students. He has witnessed that the students are not treated respectfully and do not feel comfortable speaking up.
Maria, mother of student from JHHS says she has not met the principal although there has been many meetings with other staff. She expresses concerns that she is not getting answers from the principal and there has been a lack of teachers at the school.
Tony Ramos, parent of student from JHHS says there has been many things happening at the school and would like an answer. He wants to person in charge to give an answer.
Felipe Rico, parent of student from JHHS wants more transparency from this administration and needs answers. He says in the past they let the parents know right away such as the walkout but now with the school treat, they are not informing parents until later. He also wants to find out what the communication issue is between the staff and students.
Mother of 2 students from JHHS, says her daughter mentions that the principal is telling her daughters they cannot speak Spanish at school, cannot go to college, or graduate.
Gisselle Diaz, JHHS graduate from last year expresses sadness that her 3 cousins are receiving a lack of respect from the new administration. She says her old teachers are also not being treated with respect.
Norma Garcia, mother of new student at JHHS says she is frustrated that her son with special needs is not getting the help he needs. She says there is not enough effort being put into the students and parents and it is not fair.

VI. Discussion
A.
Special Education Update
Alma Ellis Director of SPED, makes her presentation on integrated support services and discusses the services that are offered to students. Statistics are shown on AMPS students with disabilities, some require multiple services while others require only one service. Some services provided are Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI), Occupational Therapy (OT), Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS), Speech and Language Therapy, Psychoeducational Evaluation, and Behavioral Support Services. Alma shares the 13 types of disabilities, AMPS inclusion procedures, and compliance. She shares that SPED has already submitted reports to the CDE.
Elisa Gallegos asks if the students come with IEP or if AMPS do in house IEP assessments.

Chief Academic Officer: Instructional Update
Michael Bradley, CAO shares update on the first Leader Meeting, OCA Data Response Plan Progress, and CSDC. He shares leadership meeting included topic on Frisk Scenarios, Problem Based Learnings (PBL), Time Management Matrix, LCAP Basics Overview, Know/Show Charts, and SPED: LEA Designee. He shares the implementation timeline for the 2nd half of the year and that they are a little behind schedule. He also shares a few topics learned from the CSDC conference that took place over the weekend.

CEO Report
Evelia Villa, CEO makes her presentation on Williams Visits and there was one reporting on Report Cards. The Richmond region schools will start having security in the evening and they are preparing for RCA and OCHS renewals. JHHS site visit is postponed due to school treat, announces Alma Ellis' resignation, LCAP plans, and CSDC conference. She shares images from OCHS game, JHHS kayaking hosted by Coach Mariscal, DCA clean up with the City of Oakland, Girls Volleyball Game, and AMPS Halloween Event.
Gilbert Lopez Jr. shares his experience while being present at the Home Office during JHHS threat. He shares gratitude that Mrs. Villa, Mr. Bradley, and Mr. Moncada's prompt response to the situation. Richmond police showed up to the school.
