Call the Meeting to Order

Dr. Jahquille Ross called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Laureate Academy Charter School Board of Directors to order on Friday Feb 21, 2025 at 11:33 AM.

Approve Minutes

Caitlyn Scales made a motion to approve the minutes from January Academic Excellence Meeting on 01-03-25.
Monique Handy seconded the motion.

II. Student Assessment Data

A.

DIBELS - PreK - 3rd

  • Almost 2% growth from the BOY to Winter Assessment. 
  • Progress monitoring is taking place daily in classes. 
  • Decoding words in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd. (Whole Group)
  • In 2nd and 3rd grade focusing also on comprehension through MAZE. 
  • Small group intervention is happening for the few students challenging in a certain skill area. 

B.

ANET Benchmark Testing

  • Progress monitoring is taking place weekly using ANET. 
  • Next assessment coming - next week. (3rd Quarter) 
  • The assessment itself matches the rigor of the LEAP assessment. 
  • More support is needed in the undertsanding and analysis of the data. 

C.

Spring 2025 LEAP Testing

  • April 29th - May 8th
  • Working out the daily schedule. 
  • Currently, Blitz will take place 2 weeks before testing window. 

III. Student Enrollment

A.

25-26 Student Enrollment

  • 95% of students are returning for 25-26. 
  • More attention on actively recruiting. 
  • Plan in place for accomplishing recruitment goals.
