Call the Meeting to Order

Dr. Jahquille Ross called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Laureate Academy Charter School Board of Directors to order on Friday Jan 3, 2025 at 10:10 AM.

Approve Minutes

Caitlyn Scales made a motion to approve the minutes from August Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 08-28-24.
Dr. Jahquille Ross seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Student Assessment Data

A.

DIBELS - PreK - 3rd

Trends 

  • Fall 49.5 average 
  • Winter 52.4 average 
  • Ned to small groups consistency - enough extra staff on campus to assess students weekly 
  • 30% Increase for each teacher by the end of the year. 

 

Next Steps 

  • Progress monitoring and reteach on Fridays 
  • Celebrations for students tied to the progress monitoring data 
  • Moving towards coaching meetings - analyzing data and using best instructional practices

NWEA MAP

Core Content Areas 

  • Reading: Conditional Growth Average - 36.8
    • Support needed in this area across the building. 
  • Math: Conditional Growth Average - 44.16
    • Support needed in this area across the building. 

Other Notes: 

  • Shift on examining student work daily across campus. 
  • 7th grade data is a bright spot across ELA and Math 
  • Modeling and providing instructional feedback more

ANET Winter Benchmark Testing

  • 1st time using ANET this past Winter 
  • Data can be compared to other schools in the state and Louisiana 
  • ANET team will be present at Professional Development days next week 
  • As compared to other data points, more work to be done in ELA & Math 
  • 7th grade is still a bright spot 

Future 

  • Building ANET in the daily/weekly practice with teachers.

  • Emcouraged leader to pull D and F report for compliance and conversations with teachers.

  • ANET at end of Quarter 3 and Quarter 4
