II. MAP Testing Data Review (Round 1)

A.

Review MAP Scores from December '22

  • For percentile of growth, it means that this student is growing faster than X% of their peers nationally.
  • The 60% percentile means that they are outpacing their peers.
  • Major celebrations are K-2 ELA and 6-8 Math.
  • Math has been a focus area and progress is being seen in 6-8th in math, with 6 out of 8 classes over 50%.
  • Data has improved a lot compared to winter of last year. Many grades are exceeding their goal at the mid year mark.
  • A potential PLC during PD block on Thursdays where instructional coaches can lead explicit development against trends.
  • What external curriculum supports can we utilize?

B.

Intervention Efforts

  • Need to balance out the approach to ELA with Math. There were a lot of gains in math this year because of the added focus.
  • Tiering instructional support for teachers, as opposed to seeing everyone equitably.
  • Prep read live which is read naturally to help build fluency and comprehension. It's a 1-1 program for grades 2nd-8th students in Tier 2 & 3.
  • Also doing differentiated math as well based on their math scores.
  • STEP K-2 was here today and did some PD with teachers to get more specific about the skills that need remediation.
  • Use IXL for math, and using MAP data to help inform the grouping.
  • Jefferson Parish needs trackable electronic data for tier 2 & 3 intervention.
  • Also prioritizing instructional support for grade level & subjects that are not on track for their mid-year goals.

C.

Progress to Goal Overview

  • 7 folks going through LRCE that started in July.
  • 2 Leaders going through a Echelon series focused on mid-level leadership development.
  • 7 folks signed up for REACH to complete degrees.
  • 92% staffed, with an ELL professional that starts in two weeks.
  • Hired an 6th/7th ELA teacher.
  • 45% of students met their mid-term goal from winter to winter.

III. Head of School Evaluation

A.

Solidifying STEP Data Goals

Will review in February meeting.

IV. Next Meeting Agenda
