The notices were sent to the schools’ point of contact to remind all superintendents, school board members, and members of charter school boards of directors pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1119B(2)(a) that they are required to file a School Board Disclosure Statement (Form 403) with the Louisiana Board of Ethics if they have an immediate family member employed by the school system or charter school during the 2024-2025 school year (see attached sample of the letter).
Act 50 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session, effective August 1, 2022, requires the school board statements to be filed with the Louisiana Board of Ethics by September 15th of each school year.

It is the responsibility of the superintendent and each school board member to file their disclosure statement.
