Callie Slocum called a meeting of the Development Committee of City on a Hill Charter Public School to order on Monday Jun 10, 2019 at 9:09 AM.

Approve October 2018 Committee Meeting Minutes
Callie Slocum made a motion to approve minutes from the October 2018 Development Committee Meeting on 10-19-18 October 2018 Development Committee Meeting on 10-19-18.
Jeff Jablow seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Callie Slocum made a motion to approve minutes from the April 2019 Development Committee Meeting on 04-08-19 April 2019 Development Committee Meeting on 04-08-19.

The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Gala 2020 Venue Discussion

Gala 2020 Venue Discussion
Callie Slocum, Chair, introduced the item of the City on a Hill 2020 Gala, which will coincide with the 25th anniversary of City on a Hill Charter Public Schools. The Committee discussed potential locations including hotels in the downtown area, as well as other venue locations, such as the Epicenter. Next, the Committee discussed holding the event on a Friday evening, rather than the historical day of Thursday, and tentatively selected the date of Friday, April 3rd, 2020 with which to engage locations.
III. Speaker Series and "Friend-raising" Events Discussion

Speaker Series and "Friend-raising" Events Discussion
The Committee next discussed possible events, including a speaker series held at City on a Hill New Bedford campus in addition to a "Friend-raiser" with Kevin Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, to introduce new community members to City on a Hill in both Boston and New Bedford.
IV. Board Support for Onboarding of Director of Development Operations

Board Support Onboarding of Director of Development Operations
The Commitee then discussed the recent hiring of a Director of Development Operations who will begin work on on July 1, 2019. Nadine Abraham, Chief of Strategy and Operations, will lead training for the Director during the month of July, with the Development Committee supporting as appropriate.
