Call the Meeting to Order
S. Bennett called a meeting of the board of directors of Elgin Math & Science Academy to order on Tuesday Mar 12, 2024 at 5:00 PM.
II. Executive Session
A.
Motion to Enter Executive Closed Session
S. Bennett made a motion to enter the Executive Closed Session at 5:00 p.m.
G. Swick seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Motion to Exit Executive Closed Session
S. Bennett made a motion to exit the Executive Closed Session at 6:30 p.m.
G. Swick seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
III. Selection of new Executive Director
A.
Motion to move forward with hiring selected candidate
D. Haight made a motion to Motion was made to move forward with hiring Kathryn Martinez as our new executive director and authorize Sue Bennett, Ron Manderschied, and our attorney, to negotiate a three year contract.
B. Lane seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
