  B. COO Report on Expansion

Interior construction at the Administration Building will occur during January, primarily for the removal of all remaining interior asbestos.  This will then be followed by general construction.  Husar Environmental won the bidding for asbestos remediation.  TEM is supervising the work, as always.

Bulley & Andrews is bidding out the general construction work to all trades, and continues to work with the COO and broader project team to identify value engineering savings.

  C. Campus Planning--Parking Focus

This School Year 2022-23, particularly in the afternoon when EBGC After School staff arrive, there are fewer parking spaces than cars used by EMSA staff, EMSA clinician consultants, visitors, and After School staff.  Cars then park on the grass, which is not desirable from a sustainability perspective.

In SY23-24, the number of EMSA staff will increase.  Additional parking is a need of staff.  While the exact number of additional spaces is subjective, 12-15 additional spaces probably would satisfy EMSA's needs permanently for normal use.

Wheeler Kearns Architects has created a sketch of three potential areas in which parking spaces could be added without great expense, as part of (and paid within) the Administration Building capital budget.

  D. Sustainability

What specific items impacting our sustainability have been added or removed from the Construction Plans?  (E.g., electric/gas).  How does sustainability influence our planning?  How do we incorporate sustainability principles regularly?

  E. Future Communications and Community Questions/Ideas Regarding Construction
