What additional resources would we like to see on the MP Committee and/or Environmental WG?
IV. Construction Update
  A. Gym Construction Report: New Info, Schedule, and Budget
  B. “Warm Safe and Dry” Update

See COO Update.  The Admin Roof work requires some punchlist corrections, which are ongoing.
  C. Campus-wide Maintenance and Repairs

The major note is that despite torrential downpours in the first week of October, the Neil Building was almost totally leak-free.
The Neil Building passed its (required) first-ever hydro-static test.

  D. Contingency Allocated Spending

  1. Residential building repairs:  roof, furnace/air conditioning
  2. Asphalt fix for water-pooling issue, speed bumps
We are gathering proposals from the previous project low-bid contractor for the asphalt work.  We bid out the furnace/AC work for the Residence, but not yet the roofing work.  We are gathering proposals for the Residence roof and chimney work.

Because proposals are not yet in hand, I feel that it might be premature to Vote on improvements, but have kept the Purpose discussion as a Vote as the Agenda was drafted.

VI. Campus Strategic Planning
  A. Facility Use Planning

Campus buildings include:
  • Main/primary school building 20,000 sq ft
  • Art Barn 1,921 sq ft first floor
  • Gymnasium/middle school building 22,100 sq ft
  • Administration Building 10,623 sq ft (usable)
  • Dining Hall 4500 sq first floor
  • Westview Dorm  5,000 square feet per 2 floors
  • Residence approx 2,000 sq ft

  B. School Year 2023 Primary School Building Ideas

SY23 EMSA will host grades K-7, 16 classrooms needed in addition to office-space requirements
(Primary School building has 13 classrooms, the gym has 4, the art barn has 1)

For the Committee's consideration:  create additional program/classroom space inside the Neil Building, for use by/for Intervention and ML programming.  Transition Classrooms 122 and 123 to use for 5th Grade in SY2022-23.  Use Gym Building for Grades 6&7.  See attached WKA preliminary sketch/specs for such improvements.  Preliminary cost estimate (subject to VE discussion) from B&A is that the construction cost for these improvements would be $314,000.  VE may be able to reduce the cost.  Additionally, DA intends to gather at least two additional proposals from alternative General Contractors - possibly on a reduced scope of work.

VII. Closing Items
  A. Adjourn Meeting
