Board findings pursuant to Government Code Section 54953(e)

M. Barnes-Dholakia made a motion to The LCPS Board of Directors determines, in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(e)(1)(B), that meeting in person would present imminent risks to the health or safety of attendees. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54953(e)(3), the Board has also reconsidered the circumstances of the State of Emergency declared by the Governor on March 4, 2020, and finds the State of Emergency continues to directly impact the ability of the Directors to meet safely in person and/or that State or local officials continue to impose or recommend measures to promote social distancing. LCPS Board of Directors approved this on 4/13/2022 and will review the findings every 30 days.
B. Wall seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

M. Barnes-Dholakia called a meeting of the Academic Accountability Committee Committee of Lighthouse Community Public Schools to order on Thursday Sep 29, 2022 at 2:04 PM.

Approve Minutes

M. Barnes-Dholakia made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Accountability Committee Meeting on 09-01-22.

The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Hearing none and seeing none public comment was closed.

II. Academic Accountability Committee

A.

Data Review: Culture

M. Milner arrived at 2:10 PM.

Tina Hernandez, Chief Academic Officer, reviewed attendance data and suspension data, articulating that these are indicators of our school cultures. The board asked for clarifying questions around the data represented.

B.

Data Review: Impact

Tina Hernandez reviewed student enrollment data and there were not questions from the board.

C.

Data Review: Quality

K. Kean arrived at 2:53 PM.

Tina Hernandez reviewed our teacher lesson plan data, teacher observation data, student Altitude data, and our latest findings on network ELA/Math Instruction Partners data.

 

After this, Tina Hernandez and Robbie Torney, Chief of Staff, engaged in a discussion with the board on the current focuses for student achievement. The board asked questions involving school procedures, culture, and organizational systems.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 3:15 PM.
