Discuss Academic Updates
Aisha Ford, Senior Director of Teaching and Learning, overviewed the latest math vision and mathematical problem-solving practices and rollout at LCPs, as well as reviewing the latest CA School Dashboard data. The committee then conducted a deeper analysis on subgroups and performance areas.
The committee inquired about the comparison to other local schools, the understanding of interim assessments for CAASPP at the site level, and other questions related to test preparation.
Aisha responded with how IABs are analyzed in terms of student and teacher testing readiness and the difference from a summative test prediction. LCPS staff intend to analyze site comparison to other schools in the future.
Aisha then discussed the response strategy for math teachers and led the committee on a student work analysis to better understand how teaching strategies are translating to student achievement.
