Dr. Celepcikay requests for the next Governance Committee meeting we discuss the following:
1. Discussing the Annual Board Retreat.
2. CEO Evaluation for 2023.
Dr. Celepcikay, Dr. Koc, and Mr. Ay along with other Harmony school officials met with Ms. Kimberly House for a school tour and questioning about being a part of Harmony Public School's Board of Directors. Dr. Celepcikay believes Ms. House is a good fit for our board and opens it up for discussion.
Dr. Koc believes Ms. House would be a good addition to our board and has long experience in the government sector. She would be a good asset to our board and he is very positive about her joining the team.
Mr. Ay states that Ms. House is well connected in the community and has been working for the city of Houston for thirty plus years. Ms. House has experience in the area of grants, public safety, and homeland security. These are some of the areas that will help our organization grow as well. Her personality and the fact that she is a team player is how we work at Harmony's board. She will compliment the board perfectly.
Dr. Celepcikay agrees with Dr. Koc and Mr. Ay and knows the importance of a strong resume but more importantly being a good team member for the board. I believe our administration and staff do a great job and we need to assure oversight, governance, and guidance. Being a team member will help support Harmony's mission by providing feedback and guidance with their experience and expertise. Ms. House's experience with the city of Houston is really good and she has a lot of parent and volunteer experience with Houston and Alief ISD. I believe she will be a good fit and feel very confident to propose her to our full board.
