Mission Moment

This past semester, Boston Prep partnered with the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at Suffolk Law to provide our Constitutional Law students with an exceptional, hands-on academic experience.

Students examined core topics including student free speech rights, the separation of church and school, search and seizure in schools, equal protection against racial discrimination, and due process. The course culminated in a citywide Moot Court Competition, where Boston Prep students competed against peers from Boston Public Schools who are also enrolled in the program.

In preparation, students dedicated extensive time both during and after school to analyzing the Moot Court problem, crafting legal arguments, and preparing to serve as both petitioners and respondents. They ultimately presented their cases before panels of practicing attorneys and law faculty, demonstrating impressive analytical reasoning, public speaking skills, and confidence.

We are especially proud to share that of the 12 students selected as semi-finalists citywide, 6 were Boston Prep students — a powerful testament to the rigor of our academic program and the strength of our scholars.
