Call the Meeting to Order
A. Lee called a meeting of the Academic Committee Committee of Miles Ahead Charter School to order on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at 7:35 PM.
II. Kolt Updates
A.
Kolt Updates
- Waiting for GMAS results to come in, 3rd grade Reading will come in first. The remainder of the results will arrive in June.
- Strategically hiring for SY24-25 specifically for the additional 3rd grade class.
- Kolt's focus for June is working with the Leadership team. The board received the candidate for Climate and Culture information.
III. Committee Items
A.
LKES Evaluation Update
- Discussed the different metrics that MACS has achieved via the CPF and the LKES rubric.
- Discussed the option for MACS having summer school or a summer camp in the future.
B.
Academic and School Performance Items to be Presented Each Board Meeting
The academic committee requests that the MACS presents the following items to the board on a monthly basis.
- Monthly (board meetings) updates in student attendance, academic performance data (MAP, formative and/or summative common assessments i.e. benchmarks, any additional testing), and behavior data.
C.
Academic Committee Transition for Board Year 24-25
- Ashlee will stay on as an Academic Committee volunteer and lead.
- Discussed Angel transitioning to the Academic Committee.
- Celine will follow-up with two additional prospective board members.
