I. Opening Items

Record Attendance
A. Lee made a motion to approve the minutes from Acadmeic Committee Meeting 1/11/24 Emergency Board Meeting 1/11/24 on 01-11-24.
C. Browne-Roberts seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
B.
Call the Meeting to Order
A. Lee called a meeting of the Academic Committee Committee of Miles Ahead Charter School to order on Tuesday Mar 12, 2024 at 8:20 PM.
II. Updates About MACS
A.
Updates
- Justin B. resignation from the board and Academic Committee.
- Wait lists in every grade except for Grade K for enrollment; possible additional 3rd grade class. Split up the rising 2nd grade class.17 new rising 3rd grade students on the wait list.
- Discussed the future of the Academic Committee; Kolt, Celine and Ashlee have prospective board and committee members to join. Everyone will invite their prospective candidates to the next Academic Committee meeting in May.
- Ashlee L. will serve as the interim Academic Committee lead until further notice.
- LKES-Ashlee will create a Google form to complete LKES for Kolt B.
A. Lee made a motion to request a 2nd 3rd grade class for SY24-25 due to the influx of students wanting to enroll at this grade level.
C. Browne-Roberts seconded the motion.
- Kolt is awaiting a preliminary budget from EdTech to determine if the school has the budget to support an additional 3rd grade classroom.
