Executive Director's Updates

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is Dec. 1 which means we are weeks away from the biggest giving day of the year. To help everyone get ready Kolt made emails, flyers, trackers, and other tools easy for help board members pull in larger donations. Toolkit shared with the board can be accessed via this link: RESOURCES

Two ways for donors to contribute:

Path 1: Georgia PEACH Tax Credit  - This pathway is great for any person, couple, or business who wants a dollar for dollar tax break. This where you could easily convince a Georgia donor to support us with large funds as it would result in an immediate tax break for the upcoming year. Be thinking of around 5 different individuals or companies who would truly benefit from this.

Path 2: Donation through the MACS Website   - This is ideal for anyone looking to give a small donation, out of state supporter, or anyone looking to do recurring support as well! It still gives a receipt for contributions and is a great tag in your LinkedIn, social media, and other thankful networks.

Both ways work. The goal is to raise $12-15,000 this year as a board to hit our annual fundraising goal.

FY26 Audit

For the third year in a row, Bambo has completed our audit and returned it back with no findings  I am sharing both the original audit (though some minor changes are still being discussed) and an overall GLOWS/GROWS chart with the next steps for MACS including improving cashflow, paying down debts, and growing liquidity. Please review and feel free to discuss during our time together.

VOTES

Two votes are needed from the board during this meeting:

VOTE 1: Acceptance of the CSP Subgrant Award (HERE)

This is the first step in allowing us to begin the budgeting and drawdown process for funds.

VOTE 2: Records Retention Policy (HERE):

This is a new requirement from the SCSC and our collaborators at 21cobalt are offering this language aligned to statute.
