Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting is scheduled at 6:30 PM.
This Meeting will be conducted by telephone conference in accordance with the Governor’s
authorization concerning the suspension of certain open meeting law requirements for COVID-19.

Call the Meeting to Order

Dr. Denise Miner-Williams called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee of Prelude Preparatory Board of Directors to order on Wednesday Mar 4, 2026 at 7:02 AM.

Approve Minutes

Lauren Lewis made a motion to approve the minutes from Academic Excellence Committee Meeting on 02-05-26.
Dr. Denise Miner-Williams seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

Academics

Curriculum & Instruction
• Continued implementation of EL Education in ELA
• Bluebonnet Math and Story Problems supporting strong math instruction
• STAAR Benchmarks continuing to support student preparation

STAAR Testing – April
• Reading
• Science
• Math

 

Student Supports
• Student referrals and evaluations continue to move forward as needed to ensure students
receive appropriate services and support. Our population is approximately 30% SpEd, most of whom have dyslexia.

III. Other Business

A.

Staffing

  • One vacancy remains and will continue to remain vacant at this time
  •  Current staffing structure continues to support consistent classroom instruction and campus
    operations

B.

Enrollment and Attendance

• 164 Students
• Cycle 3 Attendance: 95.182%.  A new incentive for attendance, improvement, and increasing benchmarks will be a bouncy house rental. We expect more families to be entered into the Truancy Prevention program.

C.

Superintendent Comments

Family & Community Engagement
• Families enjoyed Valentine’s celebrations across the campus
• Spring Egg Hunt event is upcoming and expected to bring strong family participation
Celebrations
• Staff and students remain focused as we move toward spring break and the upcoming STAAR
testing season
