Call the Meeting to Order

B. Grimes called a meeting of the board of directors of Liberty Grove Schools to order on Wednesday Sep 16, 2026 at 12:15 PM.

II. Approve Board Minutes From August 2026

A.

August 2026 Board Minutes

N. Candis made a motion to approve the minutes from.
J. Mosley seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

III. Committee Meetings Report

A.

Governance Meeting

Track board governance goals in alignment with the school goals:

  • Classroom observations 
  • Application of the curriculum
  • Reduce chronic absenteeism

Growth Targets

  • 72% Growth for ELA
  • 65% Growth For Math

IRead Results

  • 23 out of 35 students passed IREAD(65%)
  • 12 students participate in summerschool
  1. Referendum Levy Update
  2. OEI - Mid Charter Review will occur in November
  3. IPS Agreement Renewal
  4. Charter  Renewal
  5. Board Recruitment - 2 spots available in early childhood development, fundraising and community partnerships

Academic Meeting

New MTSS Platform being used 

  • Branching Minds(comprehensive and holistic platform for reporting, tracking academic progress and behavioral concerns).
  • Used also for our data hub
  • Staff and Admin are being trained

Tutoring Partnerships

  • Listen to Our Future - Focus on 2nd Grade and current 3rd grade

 

  • Focusing on supporting our teachers and coaches

Sid Me - AI Platform

  • Evaluations for all staff

 

  • Goal for teachers to undergo - 2 formal evaluations
  • Opening for another coach

Discussion on Staff wellness and health

  • October 23rd - Workshop on wellbeing, social emotional supports and guidance

Finance Meeting

  • Monies received from the referendum to cover salaries, staffing and open expenses
  • IPS covering our transportation
  • Rental of the building

Liberty Grove Schools Staffing Update (September 2026)

Need for a:

  • 4th-6th Grade Special Education Teacher
  • MLL Coordinator
  • Math instructional Coach
  • Hired a bi-lingual office assistant
