Call the Meeting to Order

A. Roth called a meeting of the Accountability Committee of Hill View Montessori to order on Wednesday Feb 5, 2025 at 4:35 PM.

Approve Minutes

A. Roth made a motion to approve the minutes from Accountability Committee Meeting on 01-08-25.

We did not have enough voting members present to approve the minutes.

The motion did not carry.

General Updates

STAR Math Data

 

What stands out at positive progress?

  • Third graders who are in their 3rd year of the program are showing the most growth which shows that the program is working
    • Increasing in percentile ranking - seeing the amount that should increase
  • Increase is higher in the upper grades 
  • Upper EL - time on math has improved immensely
  • Middle School - now able to offer 8th grade algebra

What continuing or new challenges does the data show and how do you plan to address those problem areas in the 2nd half of the year?

 

  • Tier 1 supports - in the classroom instruction
    • Some strategies to help:
      • Longer instruction in the lower EL - 45-50 minutes a day  in "traditional school"
      • Accountability monitoring in instructional practice and keeping pace with the curriculum
    • What's happening and will happen
      • Hannah is observing and coaching - this is new this year, takes some time to adapt and will 
      • Creating a culture of coaching
