II. Academic Achievement
A.
Academic Dashboard
The committee discussed the dashboard, with a focus on these areas:
- The drop in applications for 7th graders. There are two "lenses to look at this: (1) a budget and financial lens and a (2) program implications lens. We will need to learn more as we enroll our first 7th and 8th grade classes to see how both of these play out, but in the meantime, we are budgeting conservatively in the event we see decreased enrollment in those grades.
- ANEt - Cycle 2. The data continues to show smaller differences between our school and the "network" than we've seen in previous years, although direct comparisons are hard given the changes in the assessments and potential reliability issues with remote test administration. The data supports what we are seeing in classes: younger students, especially, are missing foundational reading skills. Math data is stronger overall across grade levels.
III. School Reopening
A.
School Reopening Status and Planning
School leaders discussed the planning process they are using and shared input they are hearing from teachers about reopening more. There remains anxiety about COVID transmission, although at this point, the vast majority of teachers are voluntarily onsite at least a few days a week. The school will be hearing more from families in the coming weeks as it formulates its kindergarten reopening plan and then after that, a plan for other grades, potentially.
IV. Miscellaneous Items
A.
Student & Family Handbook 2020-21 Revision
This was not discussed due to time constraints.
V. Closing Items
A.
Academic Achievement Committee Board Report

Adjourn Meeting
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 9:08 AM.
Respectfully Submitted,
B. Spirer
