Attendance and Attrition Data
- Bill and Meghan will follow up next month with more detail about how the attrition data is calculated by the state.
Demographic Data- It was noted that we are now reporting on the new metric "economically disadvantaged" as opposed to "low income"
- The SPS data reported is from SY2014-15.
- The committee decided to share details about this at the next board meeting so board members understand the details of this change in metric.
Attendance- The group discussed the one chronic attendance issue. It was suggested that the school works to build networks of local providers who can help with specific challenges, like housing, transportation, etc.
Discipline- Low numbers were noted and the group focused the discussion on the steps taken to help the one student who has had multiple suspensions.
STEP- The group discussed the importance of breaking out the students who are new this year to tell the story of the work the school has done. Meghan will break out "original cohort" of students to show how those are doing who have been enrolled at the school since last year and are not new to the school.
