PUBLIC COMMENT AT EQUITAS ACADEMY BOARD MEETINGS – An opportunity for the public to address the Board will be provided at the conclusion of the agenda. Members of the public who wish to speak on any item are requested to identify themselves and indicate on which agenda item they wish to speak. The Board will provide an opportunity for the public to speak for a maximum of three (3) minutes, unless granted additional time at the discretion of the Board. Testimony shall be limited in content to matters pertaining to Equitas Academy. The Board may not take any action on matters discussed during the public testimony period that are not listed on the agenda. Brown Act Compliance: Agenda posted at School

Call the Meeting to Order
A. Valentine called a meeting of the Academic Accountability Committee Committee of Equitas Academy Charter School to order on Thursday Sep 28, 2017 at 6:13 PM.

Approve Minutes
A. Valentine made a motion to approve minutes from the Academic Accountability Committee Meeting on 08-23-17 Academic Accountability Committee Meeting on 08-23-17.
K. Kilty seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.
II. Academic Accountability
A.
Review 16/17 SBAC scores in comparison to District scores
Reviewed scores from grades 3 through 8 compared to the state, as district data is not yet available
B.
Discuss board presentation for October on Relationship to College Readiness
Alyssa and Kelli discussed potential board presentation. Kelli will work on presentation for review by Alyssa and Sarah by October 12th in preparation for the board presentation on October 26th. Kelli will present current data in a more graphic way. Alyssa and Sarah will review and provide feedback prior to October 18th.

Academic Excellence definition
Set as a goal for this year.

Academic Accountability Committee Goals
Committee to provide the board with progress to date on academic achievement K-8 at key points throughout the school year.
Ensure there are measures put into place when gaps are presented.
Committee to create a dashboard, include key academic measures, to be shared at key points throughout the school year.
Committee, in concert with school leaders, to define "academic excellence."
