Board members will be introduced to guest Kim Schachte, Regional Director of Business Development for Strang, who is a long time supporter of One City Schools and member of the We Are One team.

Board members will review and vote to approve the financial statements from March 2024.

Board members will meet Amanda Daiello-Curylo, Senior Accountant with N4N. Amanda has been working in the accounting field for the past 7 years and has joined the accounting team for One City Schools, Inc. Amanda participates in the monthly Finance Committee meetings and is working closely with Leah Lange to learn about One City's financials. We welcome Amanda to the team.

 

Treasurer T. Jaeckle will provide a review of the financial statements from March 2024.  Ms. Daiello-Curylo will review the new, draft presentation requested by members of the board during it's March meeting. 

 

Board members will be asked to vote to approve financial statements. 

 
IV. Review and Approve Updated Policies 4:30 PM
 

Board members will review policies required to ensure compliance with McKinney Vento.

The intent of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act legislation is to ensure that all children and youth who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence receive access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a preschool education, as provided to other children and youth.

One City continues to focus on literacy. A. Ogunniyi will provide details around One City's upcoming "Lit Night" designed for all members of the One City community, and sponsored by Summit Credit Union.

M. Ruffin will provide an update on enrollment for the 2024-25 school year. 

 

 
  D. Scholar Assessments Discuss Ayodeji Ogunniyi and Sarah Kendrick 10 m
   

School leaders will provide details of plans for assessments, and their purpose, for all newly enrolled Scholars prior to the 2024-25 school year.

School leaders will share videos demonstrating how OCES Scholars teach each other about EL Education design principles.

School leaders will provide details of the recently conducted Forward Exams, including preparation, participation, efforts around encouraging Scholars, and timing of results.

G. Wiseman and X. Zupan will share results of the recent social media campaign, current marketing and fundraising efforts.

 
  H. One City Schools Board of Directors Annual Retreat Discuss Gail Wiseman, Carl Hampton 10 m
   

Board members will be reminded of the importance of the upcoming Board Retreat scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024.

 

Details of the data gathering focus groups and survey recently conducted by the One City Parent Council will be shared and board members will be asked to consider other data sources they would like staff/council to look into prior to the retreat.

 

C. Hampton will share preliminary details of the proposed advocacy work to be discussed at the retreat, as One City continues to work to move our schools forward.
