Staff will share updates on One City's partnerships with two literacy organizations:

 

The University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI), https://ufli.education.ufl.edu/foundations/ led by Dr. Holly Lane https://education.ufl.edu/faculty/lane-holly/ a UF faculty member whose work focuses on improving literacy outcomes for struggling students through two key areas: reader development and teacher development. One City recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UFLI to serve as their training hub for the upper Midwest.

 

Project Read AI, https://www.projectread.ai/ co-founded and led by CEO Vivek Ramakrishnan, https://www.linkedin.com/in/vivrama/ which provides tools for phonics, fluency, and comprehension rooted in the Science of Reading. Project Read AI was developed and beta tested at One City Schools, and also partners with UFLI for its reading tutor program — connecting both partnerships into a cohesive literacy strategy.

  • Wis. Stat. § 19.85(1)(c) for considering employment, compensation, or performance evaluation data of a public employee (CEO contract review and evaluation).
