One City's mission is to seed a new model of public education that ensures children and teens are on track to succeed in a college or career preparatory program from birth through high school graduation.

Board members will vote to approve the draft minutes from March 25, which were not approved at the May meeting due to time constraints and minutes from May 27, 2025.

Board members will review and vote to approve financial statements from May 2025. 

The Wisconsin Charter School Program (WCSP) is a federal grant program that provides funding to support the development and expansion of high-quality charter schools in Wisconsin. In Madison, this grant can be used for planning, opening, and expanding charter schools. The WCSP is funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education.  

One City Schools was awarded an additional $500,000 in the current fiscal year for the final year of this reimbursable grant. These expenses/revenues would be in excess of the current year approved budget. Per our financial policies, this sub-budget needs to be reviewed by the Finance Committee and approved by the board. 

The Board will review and approve our annual operating and capital budgets for 2025-26. 

One City Schools Advocates will report on the outcome of our legislative activities and what we are able to achieve via the state’s 2025-27 biennial budget, assuming the Governor signs this into law by the 4th Tuesday of June 2025.

M. Ruffin will provide a report on number of Scholars registered for the 2025-26 school year, number of assessments conducted and demographics/trends noted so far. 

Staff will provide updates on plans for the July 10, 2025 fundraiser and the July 11, 2025 8th grade graduation.
