Principal's Report
Update to the Board February 11, 2020 Submitted by: Jennifer Burgess, Principal
FACILITIES ● We are accepting bids for some asphalt and concrete work that needs to be done over the summer. This includes: repairs to the asphalt at the west entry, repairs to sidewalk and curb/gutter around the property, as well as parking lot restriping.
FINANCES ● See Tiffany’s report ● We are working to have the 2020-2021 ready for preliminary board review at the March meeting.
ACADEMICS ● Honor Roll celebrations last week! We celebrate all 5th-8th graders with A’s and B’s as well as straight A’s for the entire semester. We honored 80 5th/6th graders and 64 7th/8th graders.
ENROLLMENT ● We have sent out an Intent to Return to all of our families to help with enrollment projections. We have received 650 back! Assuming everyone is accurately filling it out, we are aware of 16 students leaving (all we were already aware of). That is 2.4%! ● We are hosting a “Peek Behind the Curtain” into Kindergarten March 4 and 5. This is an opportunity for families to experience PPA Kindergarten for about 90 minutes. We are marketing to area preschools, swim schools, dance studios, etc.... 709 current enrollment, 42 pending paperwork.
STAFFING ● We are having staff complete passports over the next few weeks to gather information about next year. We will use this information to plan for next year.
CULTURE/STUDENT LIFE ● Spring dance planning is underway and scheduled for March 21 at 6:30 pm. This is the largest event of the season and a great place for board members to be seen. ● Fun Run is scheduled for May 1. Details coming soon!
