D. Hajmeirza, Director of Human Resources, presented to the Board the updated Health and Safety Policy and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program Plan (IIPP) Covid-19 addendum. The policy was updated based on guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and other county public health officials. The policy is for organization-wide implementation at each MPS operated facility. The Home Office Covid-19 Response Team updated the policy based on the most updated health orders.  

A. Rubalcava, CEO & Superintendent, presented to the Board authority to grant him clearance to move forward with applying to the grant under the Governor's "Safe Schools for All plan." The plan incentives Local Education Agencies (LEA) to open for in-person learning contingent if they meet all requirements for funding eligibility. Schools would have to provide a Covid-19 safety plan which includes the California Department of Public Health Covid-19 School Guidance Checklist, which was presented, that all ten (10) MPS schools must fill, and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) Plan. Submission of these documents would be by February 1, 2021. It will also be posted on the MPS website. Re-opening will be contingent on meeting the health parameters, less than 25 cases per 100,000 people.  

S. Orazov, Chief Financial Officer, presented to the Board the application for Payroll Protection Program loan forgiveness. The eligibility requirements to apply for forgiveness for the full or partial amount of the loan were discussed and addressed. MPS meets all said requirements and is eligible to apply. There is no timeframe stated of how soon MPS would get approved. If MPS is not approved by Small Business Administration to get the forgiveness, MPS would have to pay the loan back with interest.
