In-person Meeting Return: Governor Abbott’s March 2020 order temporarily suspending certain provisions of the Open Meetings Act due to the COVID-19 pandemic disaster expired August 31, 2021. Consequently, TCA+A Board Meetings will return to in-person meetings at Texas School of the Arts.

Charles Reid made a motion to approve the minutes from TCA+A Board Meeting on 11-29-22.
Mary A. Zimmerman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

Charles Reid seconded the motion.

  • CEO, Paul Gravley presented S&G's Initial Findings of Best Practices for Charter School Boards from November 30, 2022.
  • Board did a Self Evaluation using S&G's Assessment Tool for Charter School Board
    • Results:

      • Committees - Satisfactory

  • CAO, Anika Perkins presented 2021-2022 TAPRs for each district
    • TeSA - 2022 District TAPR Rating - B (86%) - No Distinctions
    • FWAFA - 2022 District TAPR Rating - A (93%) - No Distinctions
      • Elementary Campus - B (87%) - No Distinctions
      • Middle and High School Campus - B (89%) Distinctions in ELAR, Comparative Academic Growth, and Post Readiness

      • Currently as of today there are 97 applications for FWAFA and 59 applications for TeSA
