Vision, Mission and Core Values
Vision: To develop globally minded citizens who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effect positive change in our world.
Mission: The GLOBE Academy fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education for children of all backgrounds. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model, and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high- performing lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
Core Values: The GLOBE Academy’s core values are expressed in the acronym, CREST: Community, Respect, Empathy, Sustainability and Trust. These values are expected of the governing board, faculty, staff, parents, and students. They are woven into daily life at GLOBE and incorporated into the curriculum.
Community: We are inclusive, and we nurture and support one another.
Respect: We treat ourselves and each other with kindness and dignity.
Empathy: We strive to understand and share the feelings of others.
Sustainability: We aim to conserve our resources for optimal use in the present and future.

Call the Meeting to Order
M. Hayes called a meeting of the Development Committee of The GLOBE Academy to order on Thursday Jun 15, 2023 at 1:07 PM.

Development Committee Funds Overview
The overall funds raised were reviewed.
The goal of 300,000 has not yet been reached, but the numbers reported are always a 1-month lag.
II. General Development Committee Priorities
A.
Development Committee Updates
Development co-chair recruitment process is in the final stages.
- Candidates have had 1:1 interviews and will be going through meet and greets
- then final decision making and votes will be held on 26JUN2023 in the Board meeting.
All candidates are strong and any candidates not chosen will be asked to still continue on with the committee.
Still continuing to push for committee members, if you know anyone who is interested please share the interest form with them. The link is located in the presentation.
B.
Capital Campaign Update (Drew to update if present)
- Alexander Haas is finishing up the feasibility study and should be completed in the next month or so.
- Capital campaign will have a separate small committee lead by Executive Director. Consider if we need to have a liaison between Development Committee and this one.
III. Subcommittee Discussions
A.
Fundraising Events Subcommittee
- Athletics has done well for its first year.
- Consider removing GLOBE Rocks (music) event if there is no expectation of having it
- GLOBE Trot planning has begun. Tentative dates have been sent to the administration for approval (10Nov, rain date 17Nov)
- Working on logistics, and once the new co-chair is on board we will start having working sessions to transition and continue planning and execution.
B.
Annual Fund Campaign Updates
- Annual Fund has almost reached the goal. There are still some recurring donations to be added and the financial numbers are usually a month behind.
- Started showing the % participation of board members and staff giving. Neither are at 100%. Consider for the upcoming year what the goal is and how to better meet that.
- Working on activities to close out the 2022-2023 Annual Fund campaign (e.g. banners, etc.)
- Annual Fund Campaign for 2023-2024 year is in the planning stages. Working on the logistics to get it up and running

Next Development meeting is 20JUL2023 at 1pm via Google meet.
Please continue to invite members who are interested in being part of the committee.
Next Board meeting is 26JUN2023 at 7pm via Zoom

Adjourn Meeting
There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 1:27 PM.

Due to a lack of quorum the meeting minutes for the two previous meetings could not be approved.
The next meeting held in JUL2023 will review and approve all meeting minutes outstanding once quorum is met.
