Call the Meeting to Order
T. Williams called a meeting of the Governance Committee of The GLOBE Academy to order on Thursday Jan 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM.

Approve Minutes
T. Williams made a motion to approve the minutes from Governance Committee Meeting on 12-15-22.
D. Reynolds seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

Board Recruitment
Discussed recruitment strategies: creating linked in job postings, adding a link on the board of directors page that would lead to a template that interested board members could use to upload their contact information and resumes to give us a chance to evaluate them.

Board Leadership Nomination Process
Discussed modifications to bylaws so that board leadership can serve up to 3 years but not a mandatory three years. Also discussed taking an annual vote on board leadership

Next Steps
Discussed the items we would like to bring to the January Board meeting:
- Adding more board chairs
- Voting on removing the 6 month rule to serve on a committee prior to becoming a board chair
- Changing the bylaws surrounding the terms of board leadership
