Vision, Mission and Core Values
Vision: To develop globally minded citizens who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effect positive change in our world.
Mission: The GLOBE Academy fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education for children of all backgrounds. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model, and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high- performing lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.
Core Values: The GLOBE Academy’s core values are expressed in the acronym, CREST: Community, Respect, Empathy, Sustainability and Trust. These values are expected of the governing board, faculty, staff, parents, and students. They are woven into daily life at GLOBE and incorporated into the curriculum.
 Community: We are inclusive, and we nurture and support one another.

Schoolwide goals for the 2023-2024 academic year:

 

Math:

We will increase the number of K-8 students in the high growth/low achievement quadrant (fall to winter, winter to spring) by 5%, as measured by MAP Growth. (setting the baseline this year)

 

Literacy:

We will decrease the percentage by race/ethnicity of students scoring below the 60th percentile by 2% from the Spring ‘23 to Spring ‘24 administration, as measured by MAP. (Fall to Winter 2023 will be baseline)

 

Target Language:

We will increase the number of students in 2nd-8th grades who meet the proficiency level by 2% as measured by STAMP. Please see proficiency level documents by grade and language.     *target language for their grade, by language

 

Social/emotional:

Decrease overall absences* by 5%.

Review strategic plan priorities: 

 

  • Increase opportunities for in person parental involvement on campus.
  • Improve communication with parents around their children’s learning experiences.
  • Set and periodically measure progress toward schoolwide goals, including around increasing student achievement across groups.
  • Continue to provide professional development for teachers in a targeted way   (admin chosen based on needs, chosen in relation to a goal for the year, teacher chosen based on interest in classroom; may be related to a coaching cycle)
