B. | Brainstorming academic priorities for next 5 year Strategic Plan | Discuss | 30 m | ||
We have been asked to submit 3-5 (5 year) priorities as a committee. These will help develop the next 5-year Strategic Plan for GLOBE.
Committee members inquired at our November 9th meeting as to the latest results of the parent surveys on academic priorities. Results follow, however they do not need to definitively guide the priorities that we set as a committee.
Please see below a summary of the results of the 4th Academic survey. The topics that were chosen to be ranked came from feedback from the first three surveys and other data which we had collected up to that point. There were 172 respondents and 156 of them were parents.
The rankings of the topics are: 1.) Rigor (Math, ELA, etc.) & Preparedness 2.) Differentiated Support for Struggling Students 3.) Differentiated Support for Advanced Students 4.) Professional Development for Teachers 5.) Classroom Culture & Management 6.) Racial Opportunity Gap 7.) Communication to Families
Note, this is not to say that the first 3-4 items should be the top priorities of Academics going forward in the Strategic Plan. We know as a board that closing the racial gap is very important to us. This data, along with the thoughts of the board, you, and the academic committee are equally important. This information can show us what predominantly the areas that parents want to be addressed moving forward.
