Vision: To develop globally minded citizens who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to effect positive change in our world.
Mission: The GLOBE Academy fosters Global Learning Opportunities through Balanced Education for children of all backgrounds. With a focus on dual-language immersion, an experiential-learning model, and a constructivist approach, GLOBE inspires students to be high- performing lifelong learners equipped to make a positive impact in the world.

These values are expected of the governing board, faculty, staff, parents, and students. They are woven into daily life at GLOBE and incorporated into the curriculum.

  • Discussion: What should Committee Chair focus on when presenting to the Board later this month? What ongoing internal work at GLOBE aims to reduce the disparity in scores by racial/ethnic groups? 
  • Committee Chair will share out slide deck with the Committee prior to presenting to the Board on September 27, in order to receive any additional input or comments prior to sharing data publicly.
  C. Overview of Academic programs that support exceptional student populations
   

* Per Charter Renewal process, interest on behalf of the Board to know more about the programs already in place at GLOBE to support exceptional student populations.

  D. Goals for Academic Committee 2022-2023
   
  • Ongoing data review of testing scores and goal (priority for Board and in Strategic Plan) to reduce achievement gap
  • GLOBE graduate profile: Backwards design from this set of goals. What does this look like in K, 1st, 2nd grade etc?
  • Capstone experience: What can this look like?
  • DLI focus for longer-term: How to support students who are struggling to learn the TL
