Call the Meeting to Order

K. Tedstone called a meeting of the Development Committee of F.W. Parker Charter Essential School to order on Thursday Feb 4, 2021 at 4:00 PM.

Approve Minutes

J. Saxe made a motion to approve the minutes from DevComm January Meeting on 01-06-21.
D. Osofsky seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Development 2020-2021

A.

Our Essential Commitment Fund

Katrina updated the group on the progress of the fund- $169K
Caring Calls are going out to families of the class of 2020
Recent business support- DCU Kids

B.

Main Activity- goal setting

The group explored the goals/ideas for continuing the momentum of the development office.
-Relationship building was agreed on as the most important objective for development and the reasons for the importance were explored. 
    -Making sure we have the ability staff-wise to build and grow the person-to-person contacts and     relationships
    -Voice-to-voice contact is more meaningful
    -Making sure we are making careful, targeted asks
    -give graduate parents ways to feel connected
-Culture of giving
    -Have alums call other alums from the same class
    -Have parents make calls to invite people to join them in giving
    -Ask people to make videos about why they give
-In-person event possibility
    -group agreed that Spring 2022 would be a safer time to plan a larger group gathering
-Community building
    -Wine and cheese event
    -Scavenger hunt (virtual)
    -give people opportunities to see glimpses of what is happening at Parker 

C.

Donor Relations

Community Conversations are planned for April 
In March we will review materials and develop plans

D.

Grant Work

We have had grant success with some proposals for software and 1:1 device support. 
Currently there have $50K in grant asks
