Call the Meeting to Order

P. Fegley called a meeting of the board of directors of KTEC High School to order on Monday Jan 13, 2025 at 5:37 PM.

Approve Minutes

L. Marshall made a motion to Hold minutes from 12/16/24 and 11/25/24.
A. Andersson seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Academic Excellence

A.

2025 - 2026 Calendar

Aligned the 25-26 schedule to Gateway's Calendar. 

A. Andersson made a motion to Approve the calendar.
K. Harmeyer seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

III. Facility

A.

Pre-development Funds

Payment has been received and invoices payed. Interest payments gets paid by the loan and the whole amount will be covered by the Bond. 

IV. Finance

A.

Financial Statement

CESA 6 has some new people. They are getting us caught up on the financials. More money coming in from the DPI Grant. 

B.

2023 Tax Return

Updated Tax Form is completed based on the audited financials

A. Andersson made a motion to Approved the 990 Tax Form.
L. Marshall seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

C.

DPI Grant

Attached is the accounting of expenses. Recommendations are at the bottom of the worksheets moving the extra funds to advertising and crisis communication. 

K. Harmeyer made a motion to make the changes to the DPI Grant.
L. Svatek seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

V. Governance

A.

Enrollment

Set up a second enrollment window. 

Things to think about: 

  1. Accept name of KTEC Schools of Innovation?
  2. Do we make any branding changes?
  3. 2nd Enrollment Window?

Discussion of Logos/Branding Changes: 

Need to add pictures to minutes

  1. Rounded puzzle pieces for elementary
  2. 4 half gear puzzle pieces for middle (Middle School A)
  3. Existing for high school
  4. Overall with 1 gear in center (Middle School B)

2nd Enrollment Window: January 17 to February 7, 2025. Angie to set up community meeting dates. 

A. Andersson made a motion to approve the second enrollment window for expanding grades.
L. Marshall seconded the motion.
The board VOTED to approve the motion.

Donation update

Laura's company Deublin LLC made a generous donation of $15,000
