Call the Meeting to Order

P. Fegley called a meeting of the board of directors of KTEC High School to order on Monday Jun 8, 2026 at 5:37 PM.

Approve Minutes

G. Chapman made a motion to approve the minutes from May 2026 Virtual Meeting on 05-11-26.
L. Svatek seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

II. Facility

A.

New Building update

Construction inside is almost 100% done.  Fridge/freezer come in on Wednesday.  Bathrooms should be finished.  Final touches are being done now.  Outside:  pouring concrete.  Dug up old sidewalk.  Awning painting.  Doors are being installed.  Last inspection is scheduled to 6/23.  Furniture starts arriving 6/29.  

 

Moving quote provided.

III. Finance

A.

Grant

Applied for $1m Yass prize.  Received feedback from last year's submission and watched webinars.  Much stronger application this year.  Finalists will be named 8/6.  Semi finalists received $100k in prior years.  July 31, Caterpillar is doing a workforce grant for 5 $1m awards.  SME foundation (motor control systems) work with local manufacturers to help fund schools.  Could get $500k donation for robotics lab.

Enrollment update

Intent to return:  221 of 244

New Enrollments:  Signed 144, Waiting on Papers 18, Wait List 34

365 (221 + 144) currently + 18 Paper Work Needed = 383 of max potential 426

Open spots 4k (11 spots) , K (2 spots), 1 (1 spot),  6 (10 spots), 7 (5 spots), 10 (1 spot), 11 (14 spots), 12 (4 spots)

Max count 426

 

Door hangers for the neighborhood and mailings targeting specific grade levels.

CESA 6 PSA

Purchase Service Agreement - a general contract on how program works.  Scope of work would have details of specific project.

L. Svatek made a motion to approve the CESA 6 Purchase Service Agreement.
G. Chapman seconded the motion.
The board VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 7:39 PM.
