CQ1 Academic Report Review

Brookside received one mark for “does not meet” due to the gap between the special education and general education population at the school. The state average pass rate for special education last year was 5% and Brookside was significantly above that. The gap between these populations at the state level was 34% and Brookside had a 25% gap between these populations. Stefanie Hanes reviewed what supports have been put in place to close this gap between our special education and general education students this school year.

V. Operations Reports

A.

Navigation Team

Lafayette construction is underway with South Bend construction beginning soon. Hiring is happening for those campuses as well. The charters for both campuses are in the development process. ILEARN testing has started in all schools.

B.

Principal Reports

POA - Brandalyn Hayes

Englewood is a host site for POA students who are completing ILEARN testing, and they appreciate their support with testing. Students are excited about their end-of-the-year incentives and POA is already looking forward to planning for the next school year.

PEN - Darius Sawyers

ILEARN testing is underway. Englewood hosted a Talent Show for students a few weeks ago and students really enjoyed the experience. Track and soccer season, a student bowling incentive, and graduation ceremonies are making for an exciting end of the school year in the next month.

PCH - Tara Gustin

Students are taking their time with testing to show their work with ILEARN testing. Cottage Home is working on staffing to fill some vacant positions. 3rd and 4th-grade students have a celebration for their hard work with end-of-year testing coming up.

PBR - Dexter Taylor

ILEARN is underway with math wrapping up this week and students will be moving on to complete the ELA portion of the test. Over 200 moms showed up for a coffee chat and over 150 dads showed up for donuts with dads over the last few weeks. Looking forward to kindergarten and 8th-grade graduation ceremonies around the corner.
