All are welcome at Living School Board Meetings.  Translation is available with 24 hours notice.

Public comment is welcome on any item on the agenda.  At the end of each agenda item, there will be a time for public comment.  Members of the public wishing to comment on any agenda item, may raise their hand at this designated time and be recognized by the Chair to speak for up to 2 minutes per person, per agenda item.  On any matter up for a vote, public comment must be heard prior to taking the Board's vote.

For members of the public wishing to address the Board for longer than 2 minutes on any given agenda item, please give the Chair at least 24 hours notice to be added to the agenda.  We will strive to accommodate longer items but cannot guarantee room on a given meeting's agenda.

M. Lehnherr called a meeting of the Academics & Culture Committee Committee of Living School to order on Tuesday May 18, 2021 at 6:37 PM.

Approve Minutes

N. Kyle made a motion to approve the minutes from Living School Academics & Culture Committee Meeting on 04-20-21.
D. Lister seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED unanimously to approve the motion.

  • Discussion of LEAP data analysis and how this factors into SPS score/reauthorization

Review Upcoming Plans

  • Living Fest Spring Festival: Fri June 4, 6 - 9p: festival, tables, performances
  • OneApp - brief discussion about expected results; almost all students committed from round 1, round 2 is looking strong
  • Summer school: end of June - end of July. New staff will be working which is a good opportunity to develop and train them. Offering all math, science, english and social studies, as well as ACT prep and ESY. Services may also be offered virtually
  • 21-22 staffing: 100% of staff returning (used data from various sources support this process), almost 100% of new staff hire
  • Vaccinations: student vaccinations start this week

21-22 Academic Calendar: brief review (movement of spring break and last Odyssey); proposal to change board meetings to second Tuesday of the month
