III. Governance

A.

Discuss Committee Composition and Goals

  • The Governance Committee met to discuss proposed changes to the school's bylaws, focusing on reducing the number of board committees and simplifying the structure.
  • The committee identified that the current system with multiple committees was creating excessive workload and scheduling conflicts for board members.
  • They agreed to propose consolidating committees into three main groups: Governance (including HR and Executive Director evaluation), Finance and Strategic Planning, and Academic Excellence, while eliminating the separate Executive Committee.
  • The group also discussed potentially reducing the board size from 9 to 7 members.
  • Additionally, Donna updated the committee about a potential new joint board member from Family Services.

Adjourn Meeting

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
