Call the Meeting to Order
Diana Foskett called a meeting of the Academic Excellence Committee Committee of Martin Luther King Jr. Charter School of Excellence to order on Thursday Jan 15, 2026 at 10:23 AM.
II. Academic Excellence
A.
Academic Data Update
- Updated MOY math data
- data shows students are growing monitored by iready primarily.
- Currently most students are one grade below where they need to be but our goal is to move everyone up to be at grade level
- This year we are performing where we would expect to be at this time of the year and our current data is stronger than it was at this time last year.
- Question about what strategies teachers use in classrooms with high growth- those classrooms have more experienced teachers than most other classrooms do. Coaches use those classrooms as examples for less experienced teachers.
- ELA assessment will take place later this month
- Access Assessment update: Our students usually perform very well.
- Testing is currently in progress, results will be out in a few months.
- DESE Summary of review update: Preliminary report in embargoed at the moment. (this is for our 5 year charter renewal)
- Next meeting will take place on Feb 12 @ 10:15am
