The mission of Lowcountry Montessori School is to provide an authentic Montessori education building a foundation for lifelong learning.

Call the Meeting to Order

A. Wright called a meeting of the Fundraising Committee of Lowcountry Montessori School to order on Monday Aug 24, 2026 at 4:34 PM.

Old Business

  • Games for Food Truck night 
    • volleyball game 
    • yard games
  • Holiday Pictures 
    • S. Fox will reach out and ask if we have any photographers at the school
    • Committee agreed to payment of 10% of profits if necessary
    • Follow up at next meeting

Conversation returned to Food Truck night planning: 

  • O. Hawkins will start reaching out to food trucks this week; asking 10% of profit rather than a participation fee
  • M. Watkins suggested reaching out to Explore Beaufort to promote event (A. Wright will take on this task)
  • O. Hawkins mentioned military spouse group contacts for promotion
  • R. Beck recommended reaching out to Kilwins for ice cream
  • Include Ava Leone (social media) on communications at ava.leone@lowcountrymontessori.com
  • S. Fox will have Ava turn FT night into an event on social media 
  • Start external communications on October 5

 

  • Drive in night
    • V. Romig recommends holding off on this until Spring
    • S. Fox noted that D. Savage might like to do a movie night/coat drive for art class (last week of Sept/beginning of October)
  • S. Fox shared that Believe Fundraiser will run from September 1 to September 15
  • Discussion amongst committee about keeping fundraisers separate from club/subject specific fundraisers but working together to coordinate dates of events 
  • M. Watkins: Book fair tentatively scheduled for 11/2-11/6 but may be an issue with being short one day; Spring event set for 3/22-2/26
  • Holiday Shop
    • Donated items for curio shop
    • S. Fox will ask if UE or MS is interested in taking this on
  • Leaders Banquet
    • M. Watkins: Tentatively set for October 13
    • Will need fundraiser committee help with set up and clean up
    • Bring in stakeholders with business, money, time
    • Also bringing in master naturalists (gardens)
    • O. Hawkins suggested reaching out to Leadership Beaufort
