Call the Meeting to Order

A. Wright called a meeting of the Fundraising Committee of Lowcountry Montessori School to order on Monday May 11, 2026 at 4:01 PM.

Old Business

  • Spring Fling Planning
    • D. Lunin led discussion about shed raffle 
      • Discussion of location of shed; determined shed will be inside garage to show off Maker Space and table will be out for students to sell items made in workshop
      • Raffle tickets will be $10 each; entry and payment through QR codes 
    • F. Johannan will do signage; A. Wright reviewed signs needed 
    • Need to purchase water and drinks; A. Wright and V. Romig will figure out
    • Map for Spring Fling?
      • M. Watkins will try to create a map graphic
      • discussion of where some items will go (football toss, duck pond)
      • add ticket and spot for shark photo opp
      • location of Woof Wagon?
    • M. Watkins will do set up with students on Friday night
    • R. Beck will call to finalize dunk tank
    • Find out when Greg will set up bounce house (J. Poole/A.Wright will reach out)
    • Start set up at 9:00; all set up by 10:30 ideally
    • A. Wright and V. Romig will arrive at 8:30 to greet vendors (have 12 or 13 vendors)
    • A. Wright will send email with map to vendors and O. Hawkins will do same for food trucks
    • Cake walk every 15 minutes starting at noon
    • R. Beck said all prizes will be in admin building
    • S. Fox thinks Doug will be available for parking assistance
    • J. Poole expressed frustrations, hurt, disappointment related to timing of band set up/playing (J. Poole left meeting at this point)
    • F/U on banner in Port Royal; new banner made for Bay Street (original was too small)
    • V. Romig expressed concern about decision to utilize $500 in funds from fundraising committee (Talent Show) to pay for WaterFest advertising, noting that there should have been discussion within committee about this. A. Wright agreed that it should have been committee discussion. S. Fox expressed there was confusion about if Talent Show was considered part of fundraising committee.; A. Wright clarified that it is a fundraiser so falls under this committee. 
    • M. Watkins suggested contracts for future entertainment and agreed upon donations moving forward
    • 50 posters were distributed in downtown Beaufort by A. Wright and J. Poole; 50 more printed and will need to be distributed (several committee members took some to distribute)
    • R. Beck will put tickets, square, cash box for ticket booth in admin building; will also get square info and cash box for D. Lunin
    • Tickets for Tattoo a Teacher 
    • A list of items needed will be sent to facilities
    • Do we want to extend raffle for shed past May 20? S. Fox will ask D. Lunin
