  A. Education Matters Gala
   

Meeting Notes:
SACS would like to present awards at the Gala to the following:

  • Karen Broughton- Assemblyman Felix Ortiz’s Office
  • Chancellor Adelaid Sanford- Former Chancellor of State Education Department
  • Ben Stolz- Former SACS Teacher, who works in education policy
  • Samease Handshaw- SACS Director of Finance and Operations, who has been with the school since inception
  • Alissandra Pacheco- Member of the Class of 2016.  Pursuing a degree in education at Penn State and interning with SACS Guidance Department
  • SACS Scholar- We need to vote on one of the following: Daishani Parker, Jahlil Brown, Natousha Harden, Mikhal Waldron
Location
  • Natasha and Velma visited Red Hook Labs and Liberty Warehouse
    • Red Hook Labs is local and is a very viable location.  The space would need a lot of decorations and we would have to rent tables and chairs and hire a caterer.
    • Liberty Warehouse is willing to bring their prices down from $200 for SACS to hold event.  They are not available on March 3rd but could do March 10th, 17th, or 24th.  It would cost $125 per person plus 20% service fee.  That would include: beer and wine. Cocktail hour with Hor D’Voeuvres and carving stations, sit down dinner with chicken or fish options.
  • Committee to speak with representatives from Greenpoint Loft and the Marriot Brooklyn.
  • Expecting 200 guest at $175 per person.  Tables would cost $1,650.
