Key Discussion Points:

1. Current Enrollment and Economic Disadvantage Goal:

- Wesley International Academy has maintained its target of 65% economically disadvantaged students after exceeding it in 2023.

- Some students do not disclose their economic status during application, leading to underreporting.

2. Lottery Applications Analysis:

- 506 applications expected for the 2025 lottery cycle, an 18% decrease from last year.

- 29% of applicants reported being economically disadvantaged (likely an understatement).

- Fewer kindergarten applicants have school connections (e.g., siblings, board members, staff), which may impact enrollment stability.

3. Recommendations for Offers by Grade:

- Dr. Apperson suggested extending more offers than available seats to account for students who do not enroll.

- Offers recommended by grade range from 11 (7th grade) to 135 (kindergarten).

4. Lottery Weight for Economically Disadvantaged Students:

- Maintaining last year’s weight of 1 (equal chance for all applicants).

- Estimated 64% of students receiving offers will be economically disadvantaged, aligning with the 65% school target.

Action Items:

- Implement recommended offer numbers per grade.

- Maintain an economic disadvantage lottery weight of 1.

- Monitor applicant yield rates and adjust offers according
