Call the Meeting to Order

K. Boyer called a meeting of the Development Committee of Wesley International Academy to order on Thursday Jan 20, 2022 at 8:03 AM.

Approve November Minutes

J. Marshall made a motion to approve the minutes from Development Committee on 11-18-21.
L. Compton seconded the motion.
The committee VOTED to approve the motion.

II. Current Business

A.

Fundraising Goal Update

Actuals = $81,000
Projected to end year at $103,000
Gap to close = $7,000

B.

Grants and Events

-We received a 10K grant from Atlanta Gas Light Foundation for DEI work. 
-Out of almost 200 applicants, we are receiving $1,000 from McDonald's Golden Grants to support Ms. Reddings music class with the purchase of QuaverED Music. They will do a check presentation in February. 
-We are currently working on a GA Center for the Arts grant for the drama club. 
-As always, if you come across any opportunities please let Kate or Laura know.

 

We are partnering with the PTSA to host China Night on March 25 outdoors at Impact Church. There will be a short Chinese video collage, outdoor games and a movie (Wish Dragon). It will be free to registered with a suggested donation for those who would like to pay.

 

Capital Campaign - expanding school footprint for more classroom space. To happen in tandem with the building updates from APS. Will be discussing further with the board at large to make a decision on what is best for Wesley.

III. Other Business

A.

WIA Strategic Initiatives and Development

Feedback from mission and vision is complete. 
We need a more robust CRM system that connects to current enrollment and alumni.

B.

2022 Summer Chinese Program

Mr. Chung hosted an interest meeting for summer 2022 Chinese program and the decision was made to postpone again this summer.
