CARES Act Public Hearing

CARES Act funds Summer 2020 - PPE funding

CARES II - focused on summer programming
CARES III - 550K spent on learning loss
PBIS Coordinator - to transition back into the building for student support; students will be monitored
I-Ready will be used to personalize instruction
"We don't know what our needs are" - this will come as students come into the building - start with learning loss and tailor the funds to student needs
We have a 3 year period to spend the money
The funding will be allocated after the data comes in  -

Funds are compartmentalized so CARES is about the long recovery for students "What are the needs of students"?

Public discussion should be about how the money should be spent - I Ready and MAPP data will be used since very few tested for Milestones - gaps are hard to identify at this point
Year 1 - assessing the needs and Year 2 is about fixing those gaps

Second Public Hearing is tomorrow at the Finance Committee Meeting.

III. Closing Items

A.

Adjourn Meeting

There being no further business to be transacted, and upon motion duly made, seconded and approved, the meeting was adjourned at 5:05 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,
J. Hansen
