The February 2020 meeting of the WIA Board of Directors will take place on Tuesday, February 4th, 2020 beginning at 6:00pm in the WIA Media Center.  We hope to see as many stakeholders attend as possible.

II. Public Comments
  A. Public Comments
   
Public comments are encouraged and must remain in accordance with WIA policies and procedures.  The board allows any stakeholder an open forum to state their comments during any regularly scheduled or special meeting of the Board of Directors.
 
• Public comments are limited to 2 minutes per person.
 
• This is not a question and answer session, but rather an opportunity for stakeholders to share their thoughts and opinions in a respectful manner.

Please note, online sign up will close fifteen minutes before the start of the meeting. 
Those wishing to speak that have not signed up online in advance of the meeting may sign up in person prior to the beginning of the board meeting.

  A. School calendar
   
The administration recommended a school calendar for school year 2020-21 with school start date of August 4th. The calendar was approved by Governance and needs to be voted on by full Board.  
 
  B. APS Single Select Pilot Program
   

The first Apply APS Charter advisory committee meeting was January 22nd.  Jason Marshall is Wesley's primary representative. Fran Carroll will be the Board representative and try to attend as many meetings as possible.

  C. Welsey Lottery Process
   

Mazie Lynn is working on a white paper explaining the lottery process, so it is documented institutionally. There was discussion on how sibling preferences should be instituted and whether that is operational or governance issue.
